I Confess
I Confess
1953 Black and White movie, directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
A favourite among many Catholics.
Father Logan (Montgomery Clift) is a Catholic priest, who finds his faith put to the test when he is accused of the murder of a wealthy member of his parish. Fr. knows the identity of the real killer who has has confessed it to him in confession, but bound by the secrecy of the confessional he cannot share this evidence with the police, even if it means his own life.
A very topical movie at this time when the right of the Church to guarantee the secrecy of the confessional has become a target of various anti-Christian groups.
Some violence and some adult themes.
But definitely has a "moral perspective" where good is good and bad is bad.
Run time 95 mins.
